The history of water
The history of this water dates back to 1845, when it was discovered by a group of pharmacists who recognized its medicinal properties.
At first, this water was only available at the source and was gradually distributed to local pharmacies. In the late nineteenth century, the Little Dolomite Valley was a favorite destination for the aristocracy, where they could appreciate the pristine nature and the special nature of the water in these mountains. Queen Margherita of Savoy, the first queen of Italy, regularly visited this valley. Two springs in the valley are named after her: Fonte Margherita in 1845 and Fonte Regina, discovered in 1902.
Since 2017, a revival project has been underway to restore Fonte Margherita to its full glory.
